Foster the People 是一個三人組的獨立樂團 發跡地是加州 LA
他們的音樂不走主流風格 主唱的聲音也不是那種MAN POWER
既沒有滄桑感 也不沙啞 更沒有激昂的高音 但卻有種慵懶的魔力
成員有 音色柔和 幾乎所有事情都一手包辦 天才型的主唱 Mark Foster
負責打擊樂器的 Mark Pontius 負責BASS和合音的Cubbie Fink
FTP 最鼎鼎有名的歌曲便是收錄在 Torches 專輯中的 Pumped up Kicks
老實說 我真的不知道為什麼中文要把團名翻譯成 "擁抱人群"
完全看不出來啊!!!!! 我還寧願叫他們 FTP 雖然就很像是電腦用語

Goats in trees 收錄在 FTP 2014年的新專輯 Supermodel 中
雖然沒有登上前兩波主打 也不知道會不會是第三首
但卻是我整張專輯裡最愛的一首 就像Pumped up kicks一樣
主唱 Mark Foster 曾陷入藥癮
而這首 Goats in trees 就是描述著他在對抗藥癮的心路歷程
大概是因為曾經深陷泥潦 才有會知道那種無助感 並唱得如此無助貼切
而且這讓我想到近期的新聞 一隻作為領頭羊的山羊不慎從懸崖上落下
而身後的綿羊幾乎全數跟著領頭羊一起摔落山崖 幾乎全數身亡
這是否也可以套用在這裡呢 一隻山羊被困在樹上
其他的羊群也跟著一起爬上樹梢 一起被卡在樹上 一失足便成千古恨
一種騎虎難下和盲從的感覺 就和使用毒品很類似啊

這首歌的心境從毒癮開始 不聽勸
一度成功的戒毒 卻忍受不了發作的毒癮 而又再度吸毒
直到真正覺悟 毒品帶來短暫的溫暖都是假的 謊言
而後在戒毒的地獄中掙扎著 然後用親身的經驗告訴你 戒毒日子不是人過的

我知道山羊其實很會爬樹 或爬各種人類無法想像的地形
但就當作一種比喻吧 如果用乳牛或是長頸鹿在樹上 沒準那棵樹就先垮了
